Meet TJ Joye
TJ first and foremost identifies himself as a Christian saved by the Lord he serves, and secondly, he is a passionate, life-long resident of Florence County that is actively involved in his community. TJ began his law enforcement career in the early 1980s while he was in the Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer. From there, he joined the Florence County Sheriff’s Office in 1985 and then joined the S.C. Highway Patrol in February 1988. TJ retired from the Highway Patrol after serving for several years as a supervisor and Troop 5 Lieutenant being over eight counties. Troop 5 consists of the following eight counties (Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, Williamsburg).
TJ has been married to Ginger Carter Joye for the past 27 years, and they have two sons – Carter and Matthew. TJ currently works at the Carolina Academy in Lake City where he is the head of security, the high school football coach and athletics director.

1988-2014: South Carolina Highway Patrol Supervisor from 1996-2014. Retired as Lieutenant and Executive Office over Troop 5.

Member of the Dalco Masonic Lodge in Latta Master Mason.
